Aside from the beach, there is also plenty on offer for families to see and do around Jones Beach. Activities such as fishing and mini-golf abound during the summer months, and there are also various museums, galleries and gift shops around the area. The MTA Long Island transport network forms the most convenient method for visitors to reach Jones Beach. Simply take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to Freeport, where the Long Island Bus service may then be picked up to get to the state park.
